Potty Prince

After careful observation of my ever on the go 20 month old son I decide on Easter Monday that today is the day we will purchase the very controversial POTTY.  This decision was made unanimously by myself and his father after we watched him tugging as his PJ bottoms and shortly thereafter bought daddy dearest a fresh nappy and the packet of wet wipes, and adamantly insisted that daddy do his duty and change a very water logged night nappy.

So off we go, dearest darling Potty Prince and I to the nearest potty acquisition shop to decide on the next piece of child rearing equipment… After much deliberation and several tantrums at once again being pushed onto a piece plastic ever so slightly bigger than the average toddlers bum - so mommy can check how stable (and good) he looks on it, THE potty was chosen.

Having my hands full of 20mth old with potty in tow, I placed the slip for our new acquisition inside the potty and proceeded to the car. En route a gust of wind catches the slip and blows in out of the potty and into the bushes. Quick as can be I stampede the bushes to rescue said slip and place it once again firmly in the potty (litter is ugly ok!!!).

And off we go. As we walk up the pathway to daddy’s open arms Potty Prince grabs his new throne to show daddy. Daddy examines said piece of plastic and make all the appropriate sounds to show how impressed he is. After which our Potty Prince scrambles down from daddy, potty firmly in hand and attempts to remove his trousers – no easy task with one hand full of potty!!! With a little help from Granny, trousers and nappy removed, Potty Prince takes his rightful place on his throne. After approx 2 split seconds he lets out a howl of disappointment and rugby tackles me standing in the shadows looking like the proverbial pack horse still clutching all the paraphernalia you need to take with a 20 mth old on a 2 hour outing…

The rugby tackle causes me to drop everything, including the slip for the potty. Potty Prince quickly scoops up the slip, places it back into the potty (where it CLEARLY belongs) and proceeds to make his first wee wee ever in a potty, therefore accepting his title of Potty Prince forever more!

Love you dearly my very Prince, don’t ever stop being you.
